Wine buyers database: 450,000 professional contacts

By Boris PeutevynckUpdated July 20265 min read

La Base Viti operates one of the most comprehensive wine buyers databases in Europe: 450,000 professional buyers across France and 13 export destinations. Access to the database is not sold separately. It fuels our prospection team, which contacts, qualifies, and builds relationships with buyers on behalf of the wineries we accompany.

What is in the database

The database consolidates six major categories of professional wine buyers: independent wine shops (approximately 8,000 in France, 25,000 across Europe), restaurants and hotels (approximately 67,000 in France, 400,000+ across Europe), importers and distributors (400 to 900 per major European market), negociants and wholesalers (approximately 200 in France, plus European coverage), food service and specialised channels (corporate accounts, catering, airline and cruise, wedding and event, luxury hospitality), and event and trade-show contacts (verified attendees of Wine Paris, ProWein, and major international wine events).

Each fiche includes verified contact information (email, phone, LinkedIn where available), the decision-maker's name and role, the establishment's positioning and portfolio focus, and behavioral data (recent activity, participation in industry events, hiring patterns).

How the database is built and maintained

The database is built from multiple sources: professional directories (updated continuously), industry events (Wine Paris, ProWein, Vinexpo, London Wine Fair, and major regional shows), automated enrichment via specialised tools (Icypeas, Kaspr, Dropcontact for email verification and enrichment), and manual qualification by our team.

Freshness is maintained by continuous enrichment. Bounces and outdated contacts are removed from active prospection. Every buyer contacted in the last 12 months has been recently verified. This is a critical difference from static databases that can go stale within 2 years.

Why we do not sell the raw data

Because a database without a team is just a spreadsheet. The value of a wine buyer contact is not the contact itself; it is the conversation, the follow-up, the meeting, the order. That work requires human effort, sector expertise, and time.

If you want a raw database to work with yourself, providers like BestWineImporters (39,000 fiches, self-service) or Vinup (2,370 negociants and courtiers) are established options. If you want meetings and orders, work with us.
