Frequently asked questions

By Boris PeutevynckUpdated July 20265 min read

The most common questions we receive from winemakers exploring our services. If your question is not covered here, book a discovery call and we will address it directly.

Business model and pricing

Q: What is your pricing model? A: We work on a monthly retainer basis with a commitment period of several months. Pricing depends on your scope (channels covered, geographic markets, volume of contacts), the specifics of your wines, and the duration of engagement. We communicate exact pricing after the initial diagnostic call, not in public documents.

Q: Do you take a commission on orders? A: No. Our compensation is the monthly retainer. Orders placed by buyers go directly to you at your own commercial terms.

Q: Can you send a proposal? A: Yes, always after a discovery call so we can tailor the proposal to your specific situation. Cold proposals without diagnostic do not work in this industry.

Buyer database and prospection

Q: How large is your buyer database? A: 450,000 professional wine buyers across France and 13 export destinations. This includes independent wine shops (approximately 8,000 in France, more across Europe), restaurants and hotels (approximately 67,000 in France), importers (400 to 900 per major European market), negociants and wholesalers, food service, corporate and event channels.

Q: Do you sell the database itself? A: No. The database serves our prospection team. We do not resell raw data. If you want data-only, look at providers like BestWineImporters. If you want conversations and orders, work with us.

Q: How is the database maintained? A: Continuous enrichment from multiple sources (professional directories, industry events like Wine Paris and ProWein, direct enrichment via email verification tools, manual qualification by our team).

Comparison with alternatives

Q: How do you compare to BestWineImporters? A: BestWineImporters sells data (39,000 fiches, self-service). We sell service (our team prospects using our database). Complementary offers, different value propositions. Many winemakers use both.

Q: How do you compare to hiring an in-house sales rep? A: A sales rep costs 60,000 to 100,000 euros per year fully loaded and takes 6 to 12 months to become productive. Our service is variable, immediately operational, and covers multiple channels simultaneously.

Q: How do you compare to going alone? A: Some winemakers do it themselves and succeed. It requires 2 to 3 days per week of dedicated commercial time, a strong existing network, and patience. Most winemakers prefer to focus on production and delegate prospection.
